Galvanize

The start-up-friendly workspace and learning center goes for a new look, starting with the Austin campus.

After seeing the way she revitalized their Fort Collins location in Colorado, the tech education and entrepreneur hub Galvanize wasted no time in bringing designer Jacque Johnson on board as its new Creative Director. Johnson, tasked with rebranding all eight of Galvanize’s locations nationwide, knew SitOnIt Seating®’s versatile models would not only check off all the boxes—easily adjustable, comfortable and durable—but also maintain the professional look and inviting, urban-inspired vibe of the brand.

On any given day, each bustling, high-traffic location brings in a varying mix of full-time students who attend classes, tech entrepreneurs and their start up teams who call Galvanize home as well as locals who stop in to go to workshops and networking events. There is also a regular influx of locals who use the welcoming common areas and public café, Gather, as meeting spots.

Tasked with redesigning the Austin campus first, Johnson worked with Susan Loeschner of Beck Total Office Interiors to bring in customized Wit models for a lot of the different spaces. The breathability of the mesh back, uncomplicated adjusting mechanism and super comfortable sit make our Wit a go-to choice for many designers. The easy-to-adjust Wit task and stool models in Fog mesh were no-brainers for the collaborative workspace areas and private suites while the classrooms were furnished with the armless version of our Wit Task for easier mobility.

Johnson chose our sophisticated Sona upholstered models for the conference rooms in a sleek Brisa Fresco Sepia and the casual Relay in a Pebble back and Spiced Chai seat fabric for the various other conference and collaborative areas throughout the campus. For the remaining multipurpose spaces, Johnson went with our Relay in Pebble.

Following rave reviews from the Galvanize team, installations for the recently opened Boulder, New York and Pheonix campuses are up next.
